CBS F1 Coverage again
PLEASE NOTE
Formula 1 has exercised its option to put four races on broadcast television in 2005. The San Marino, Spanish, Canadian and German Grands Prix will be shown on CBS prior to SPEED's delayed telecasts.
Well there goes the weekend.

I managed to avoid their coverage of last month's race and wait for the delayed broadcast. I guess I'll have to do it all over again.

Try www.formula1.com for live timing and a scrolled commentary (OK, it's not Murray Walker, but...) I can't stand CBS's coverage. Bernie! SpeedTV, dude! LIVE! Come on, mate.

As a lot of us said last race, the excitement of the race clouded our judgement of the CBS broadcast. This time the race was just mediocre, so CBS's lousy job showed loud and clear. PLEASE give it back to Speed. Please, please.

I think CBS has to use the same non HD video feeds as Speed and everyone else has to.
I agree, the last race was a better race and the verbal vomit was only masked better. This time there was little to hide behind.
Thank god for TEVO......

Nothing better than your own personal tape delay!
And it was great to see Kimi and McClaren back on track! If they can keep the car together on a consistant basis, it is going to be a great season (CBS non-withstanding).

I did not know F1 Roll hoops are made of Steel!
I think Derek really liked to hear himself talk yesterday.

The commentary was definitely dumbed down for the masses. Who's the fool opposite of Daly?

The "fool" is Ralph Sheheen, though I am not sure I am spelling his name correctly, but then again he mispronounced Fon Portago's name on the broadcast. But when Daly spent two minutes explaining what a roll bar was, that topped it all. And I agree with M758, I doubt that a F1 rollbar is made of steel. Guys, if someone has to explain to you what a rollbar is, you ain't going to be much of a F1 fan. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.
