Default Brake caliper bolt replacement??

I'm changing my brake rotors, 1997 993 TT, is it necessary to replace the caliper bolts?? The shop manual says they must be replaced.

Thanks

I have heard from two dealership parts guys that it is not necessary to change them every time. But I would, for such an important function on my TT.
BTW, I just ordered some from Suncoast Porsche for $4/each. For that Price, Change them every time.

i have a 996 and the factory reccomendation is to replace the bolts whenever removing the caliper. so i changed them when i replaced my rotors. no big deal. the old bolts did look really worn and had more rust/corrosion on them so i felt better putting fresh new ones back iin

Caliper bolts have a thin anti-corrosion coating to prevent the steel bolt from siezing the aluminum caliper and upright. The coating is easily damaged on installation/removal, hence the replacement recommendation.
