Road Atlanta - Incident
Does anybody have or know of anyone that has any video of the fiasco that happen during the first practice start of Group 4 at Road Atlanta April 2nd?
I usually have a camera in my car but forgot it on Saturday.
I was driving the 924S that got hit left side and spun into right wall.
Thanks for your help.

Sorry Tim, I was right there but I forgot to turn it off after the previous practice and have 105 minutes of me trying to fix my car. I was bummed because the picture is etched in my memory, it was absolutely surreal and in slow motion when it happened!

Tim, there was a white 944 with a red and blue stipe in front of me and I think a GT car (914) in front of him. If you look at Jacks video maybe you can identify those cars, chase them down and see if they have video.

No 13/13 for me....just repair costs. I will probably be grounded until July.
What happened...
During VERY FIRST of THREE PRACTICE STARTS a yellow GT5 911 went off track left on front straight (Note: It had been raining all week) did not lift, re-entered track at a very sharp angle.... this is where it gets fuzzy for me... I thought that the yellow 911 hit me but another yellow GT5 944 got gathered up by the the yellow 911 too and they were both yellow so, regardless I was hit left side b-pillar just behind drivers door right on the hoop of my welded-in roll cage (best place to be hit on the side) by a yellow car. The left side impact knocked me off track right into the grass and wet clay and the right rear contacted the right side concrete wall, I spun 180 and was driving backwards until the car completed the 360 on the edge of the track. I turned the wheel hard right and got out of the way.
I would love to see a video so I will understand exactly what happened.
Pictures attached.
Thanks,

Love the left side banner. Very HWFMR.
Sorry that happened, but good see you kept your sense of humor about it. Sucks to be out for a few months.
Who did get the 13? The yellow 911?

Tim;
You can believe me when I say I can feel your pain. (Club Race Turn 5 Road Atlanta in 2001 my bad, Club Race Safety Pin Sebring this year with help.) It does happen and when we step back and see the aftermath, it continues to fester and makes you that much more bothered. I hope you can deal with it and learn as I have. I look forward to racing with you again...

Tim is too modest to remind everyone that he finished 3rd in class after the shunt.
Ironically, the yellow 944 is pictured on the PCA results webpage (pre-incident).

Tim, though I was watching on the front straight, I really cannot say which car hit you. There was so much going on and it happened so fast. All I know is that is was a bad judgment call on the yellow 911 for not slowing the car down rather than trying to save it. At first it looked like the 911 without any driver input just started to rotate on the wet grass but like a 911, it shot onto the race track without notice.
I think the white 944 with the red and blue strip that Brian is talking about was number 53 or 153 in the number and said 924 on the back where it would say 944. My dad and I were parked in the same area as that car.
It was still nice to see you drive your wrecked car for the rest of the weekend like nothing happened. I think more drivers will check their cameras before they go out to make sure the batteries haven't died.
