Default Tire dressing on R-compound tread

Spring is here, finally, and I was detailing the car. Couldn't fine my tire dressing initially, then found it where I keep my track tires. One of my kids "dressed" the exposed tread of my R-compunds to a nice wet look shine. Probably since last fall!! Any bad effects, 'ya think?

Sorry I don't have any advice but that's funny as hell. Sounds like something my kids would do.

The tread!! Yow. hahaha. Probably no big deal, and in fact it might have a small beneficial
effect of stopping some of the hardening/degradation due to atmospheric exposure. Do
take it easy still the stuff is scrubbed off though...

Heh-heh. Come to think of it, it IS funny. Guess I'll just take it easy the first few laps next time out.

Be real real careful in the wet until you're sure that it's all dried out etc. There were some pictures and stories on another forum of a guy who totaled his car in the wet after treating his tires.

Yeah, that guy is an internet legend. Armor All on the tire tread of his IS300.

I would be extremely careful in anything but dry and mild conditions until you're sure its all gone.
