Having run in back to back sessions at Summit Point the weekend before last with essentially identical cars (968 engined 944 and 944 Turbo S with identical suspensions and quaifes) the MPSC's were sliding/spinning out of all of the slow corners and through the carousel - even after the MPSC's had 5/6 laps to warm up (it was about 30 degrees). The RA-1's were hooked up.
Plus, the RA-s are more than $100 cheaper per set.

My Z06 came with 4 extra sets of Hoosier RS04's (late manufacture, current design) and I'm just now wearing out the last of them. The rears have all worn
pretty evenly and the fronts give out on the shoulders first because of aggressive camber settings. After one race or two practice/qualifying sessions I flip the fronts on the rims and get more life from them.
As far as getting only one race per set of Hoosiers, In my case, I'd say that's a luxury more than a necessity. I just ran one set for two races this weekend - the same set I raced on last Sunday. Yes, they're cooked now but they were still pretty sticky until the last 6 or 7 laps. They were driven very aggressively.
size: P315/35ZR17 - all 4.

Had MPSC's (fr: 225/45/17, rear: 255/40/17), but trying victoracers (Kumho) this year. Had a hard time getting enough heat into the MPSC.

Was running MSPC (225/40/18 and 265/35/18) last season, just took delivery of a new set of the Dunlop Super Sports in the same size. The Dunlops 265's are .4 inch wider than the MPSC's so I may have an issue...if I do I will switch to 255's for the rear (and end up posting the 265's in the classifieds...lol). The price of the Dunlops is incredible. I am heading to Summit Point this weekend and unless the Dunlops are complete crap I plan to order another set or two. A tire rack rep told me he wasn't sure if the pricing would be good past March.

I tried a few different hot pressures. The Michelin care guide said something like 34/36 hot (fr/rear), but a Michelin tire rep told me 40 hot all around. I found the 34/36 gave good grip, but the tires felt almost flat for the first few laps. In the end, I went with 36/38 hot (fr/rear). I was able to really get them to stick at Mosport in the mid summer, but I couldn't get the same grip from them at Tremblant (newer pavement), or in early/late season (we really only get one hot day a year here in Canada ).

Just finished CA Spedway PCA event last weekend.
Car: 944S2
Tires: 17" Victorracers Rr 275 Fr225
Took a brand new set of RA-1s due to the expected rain. Didn't know what the VRs would do in the rain, but after the first session in the rain - wow. They stick and wore great over the whole weekend. Only one swap from left to right. Total track time 4.5 hours. Needless to say the RA-1s are still wrapped and sitting in my garage for another day.
