Newbie Question Regarding Tire Pressure Devices
At the OG Racing Shop at Summit Point, I saw devices that can be installed directly into the rim where you can set a max pressure for your tires. I understand that these are used primarily for rally and other purposes. Why doesn't everyone use them? What is the downside?
I tried to search, but I couldn't find anything (probably because I do not know the proper terminology).
Thanks,

TD,
This recent thread covered the pros and cons of the Tirelief - Tirelief thread
Great to see you at SP last weekend, and hope you make it to more events this season. The Dorki are persuasive, so I'm sure you will be out there!

The downside is that it's difficult to change the bleed pressure -- which makes it a pain if you run different tires, or want different pressures for different situations.

Tony, I think TD is hooked...
With extra removable valves you can set any pressure you want. Have a set dialed in to 40# on the rims and want 39? Take the 2nd set ajust to 39# using the setting adjuster tool and pop them in. Changing a setting takes about 1 min each to change and then test and retest. You can change valves without loosing air from the tire they are as easy to change as valve caps. Run different tires with the same pressures? Move the valves around in the same way.
