New rules "appear" to have added parity to "most of the teams". Should make for an interesting season - going to Indy and Montreal this year may finally be different than the last 3 Ferrari years.

I have seen the race, but it is very bad form to spoil it for those who Tivo'd with this kind of post (especially the title).
Please, if you need to dicsuss results of races, put "SPOILER" in the title and do not give it away to those who have not yet watched.
Perhaps you can quickly edit the title to save if for those who have not yet had it spoiled.

I enjoyed SV coverage of the practice, qualifying, and race. Hobbs and Matchette do a great job in the broadcast booth, and the race was actually interesting for a change. Michael got hammered by the qualifying weather, then tried to close a door too late and got punted, Renault was impressive. Malaysia will be interesting as everyone will be on used motors except Michael and the temperature may give them trouble.

Yes, it was a good race, and it was great to see Fisichella win, but Reubens run up to second from mid-pack speaks volumes, as does the fact that it was in last year's car. Don't sound the death nell for Ferrari just yet.

Ferrari doesn't have their new car yet so ... 2nd without their new car does not bode well for the rest of the feild.

I love Ruebens' job but especially DC and Red Bull.

Anyone know what happened to Toyota? They were doing so well early in the race, then fell way back.

I think that the weather did more to mix up the field at the start of the race than what could have been expected from the rules package. The teams have made up much of the lost down force and the one tire rule did nothing to increase passing as the drivers stated that their tires were consistent to the end of the race. The one tire rule is only going to work if they have one tire manufacturer. I can remember many TransAm races where the winner was decided by the driver who drove a good car and conserved his tires until the end of the race. Nonetheless, it was good to see another team at the top of the podium. Ferreri's second place with a modified 04 bodes poorly for the rest of the field. MS drove an uninspiring race and he has done in the past when his position and car were not competitive. Congratulations to Fisi who finally got a proper winning celebration and to DC and Red Bull for embarrassing teams with much higher budgets. Looks like JV is going to be slow........He should be inducted into the HWFMR professional club.

Apparently Trulli had a tire blister. Why they didn't take advantage of the 1 tire change rule remains a mystery.
