PCA Club Race date is April 2nd & 3rd. There is also a Test & Tune day on Friday April 1st.
For those interested there is a NASA Race March 19th & 20th. There is a small bore run group (944Cup, Spec Miata, Honda Challenge, Legends 5) and a Big Bore run group.
There is a sprint race on Saturday and a Sprint race on Sunday. This is a great way to warm-up for PCA Club Race

Tim!!!
I'll be there and I'm hoping to kick your ***!!!
It's going to be a ball - see you next weekend if I get all of my leaks sorted out (I have a handle on it - the front crank seal was pumping oil).
Take care buddy!

Tim
Must be a common problem. I had mine resealed before the Sebring race and then my power steering rack sprung a leak so I am having it replaced with a manual rack. Losing all of the associated hoses and pumps etc. too. That has to be at least 10 lbs from the engine compartment?
See ya March 19th & 20th.
Oh yeah.....You better bring a BIG can of whoop ***!!

Is that a little early on turn 1? jk Maybe not if you're up on the burm like Mike implies. Or - more likely - maybe the cones are set up for typical DE late apex.
Anyway - check this out from the Forza forum:
"Check out the newest issue of Popular Science, April - 05 for an 8 page article comparing Virtual Vs. Reality. They use Forza and Road Atlanta. Real cars vs. Forza, 50 inch Plasma, race seat, Fanatec wheel, and surround sound. They use a race car Driver (Gunnar Jeanette) and car modder/gamer (RJ DeVera, who was in fast and furious playing GT-3 and consulted with M$ for Forza, helping pick tuner parts. <- according to this story.)
Great stuff, and Forza held up very well in the comparision. They ran the Porsche Carrera GT '04, the C6 Vette '05, NSX '04, Lancer Evo MR '05, Golf R32 '04 and the Lotus Elise '05 (US spec 190hp for real, Euro spec in the game 156hp.) Yes they ran a full day on Forza, Then actually ran the SAME cars around Road Atlanta! The race car driver was much faster, in the game and on the track. VERY impressive, as he is not much of a gamer.
He stated the speed was spot on, the brake points were spot on and only had to very minor points in regards to the Forza verison of Road Atlanta. "The esses were tighter in reality and the final turn (12) drops more in real life." That was it.
They mention a link to more info, but it is not up yet www.popsci.com/forza . If that does not come up in a day or two I will scan the article for posting.
Here is another link about the PopSci story:
http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/7822/F...ty-at-150-MPH/
In-game times were about 3-5 seconds faster (on average) then actual. The Race driver described that as the 'fear' factor. He could brake deeper in the game, because there was 'little' risk. In real life his brain took over just a bit, when approching a blind corner at 100+ mph. Also the C5 they used was the RA pace car. The race guy said it was 'used up'! No brakes and poor tires. Another note. This guy beat developer Dan Greenawalt's record lap time on his third lap. ha ha. He races in the ALMS for Panoz."
The PopSci issue is due out in Mid-March and the Forza game is (unfortunately) not out until early May.

NOTE: These pictures are not intended to show the perfect race line. They are intended to introduce the details of the track to those that have not enjoyed a lap around Road Atlanta yet. The attached photos will finish Turn 1 and start the approach to Turn 2 up the hill.

I'll be there Tim...I'll be running an I-class car bumped up a group to possibly F-class. How fun is that? Maybe by the end of the year I'll have my 944 built and no more sharing my dad's car. We'll see. I can't wait for the enduros though. The race at Mid Ohio in May has one which my dad and I will be attending.
I might come up to the 944-Cup next weekend to watch some if I get my big T-belts "oh they better not break" on my 944 done Saturday.
