Leh, as always excellent work.Nicely done!
Leh doesnt mention this but one of the side benefits is less missed shifts. As you can see the ride is fairly violent and it is easy at max Q to find the wrong gear at the wrong time. The sequential downshift helps alleviate that problem.

Leh, that was really something to see, thanks for posting it. I've gone both ways on downshifting, but came back to the sequential after driving some F2000 cars last year - just couldn't be smooth if I tried to jump gears.
Quick question - are you letting the clutch out on every shift, or holding it in and just blipping until you get to your gear? Your leg is so fast, I really can't tell in the video.
Thanks,
Bruce

Great video. Thanks for posting.
BTW, I usually skip gears when downshifting. 5th to 3rd at the end of the back straight at Mid-Ohio for example. I figure with a 915 gear box, there is less risk of putting it in the wrong gear if you reduce the over all number of shifts.
Then again, I'm not shifting as fast as Leh.

That was pretty impressive stuff. The closing speeds on the cup cars is amazing.
As for the shifting, I row the gears but only let out the clutch for the gear I want. I use it as a timing thing so I always know what gear I'm in and I don't have to think about it. Although, I've never had to go down 5 gears either (I'd be in reverse if I did)![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Leh: any race footage you can post? I need a fix until the snow melts.

If you shift down through all the gears and let the clutch out for each, you're probably able to brake alittle later as you're using both the brakes and the engine to slow the car (?).
Glen: yes, definetly less missed shifts.
Leh: nice vid.

Leh-
I am a bit confused by your saying that sequential shifting helps slow the car. When I have driven them, there always seems to be enough brakes to slow the car as much as needed. (I am not disputing what you are saying - I am really only trying to understand why you sequentially shift) Is there any other reason, or has someone told you to do it that way? I have, for some time, been trying to understand which method is best. (incidentally, most pros I have observed in GT3 R, RS, Cups do shift exactly as you do)
thanks

Personally I feel that when I sequential shift I know that I am always in the right gear for the speed I am carrying. I guess it goes back to auto-x background where you are usually in low gears and don't have the choice to skip gears and when my dad first taught me how to drive I put the car in neutral rolling to a redlight. he said never take it out of gear so if you see someone is going to run into the back of you, you can accelerate quickly to lessen the impact or avoid contact all together.

Leh,
Thanks for sharing, that''s one quick car not to mention your hands & feet...
Can I ask which camera you were using and how you mounted it? I thought it worked really well.
