Default CG-Lock anyone?

I've recently found out about this product and it looks pretty good on paper. Has anyone out there tried it?

Check it out at www.cg-lock.com .

Thanks!

Looks nice and I have seen the ad in GRM. This is similar to an old AX trick. I have been simply shortening the lap belt and twisting the latch 3x to make the lap belt a fixed length, nice and snug. Does the same thing in a little less elegant way, but at least it is free.

Cheers,

I have used them and I was not very impressed. However, I am used to race harnesses so it could be an upgrade from regular 3 points. Not only does the thing weigh so much that it does not let the seatbelt retract, its edges tend to scratch up the interior as it swings around. I would not bother with it.

When I used to auto-x, I would tighten up my 3pt this way:
- move seat back one notch
- pull belt tight
- give shoulder belt quick tug to lock it
- move seat back to original position.

I put in harnesses when I went to the track.

I would twist 3x like other people on my belt, but would also add a 3" belt that went around my chest and the back of the seat. This way your waist is secure and your chest is secure also, if you use an open top car, you have to have a roll bar with this set up.

This device is under $50 (inc. shipping) if I buy one and around $40 each for two. Other than it being heavy it seems like a much better solution that twisting the belt up to me. I can always get a black wrist strap to cover it up to avoid it scratching anything (as one gentleman mentioned).

Thanks for the input!

I have these in my 993 and they work great for autocross....on the track, I use harnesses....

BTW, they are not heavy at all....

Can't run 4-points in my 997S without changeing seats. Looks to me that for $41.00 US (inc. shipping) this is the best solution. I don't like "mickey-mousing" setups in any aspect of my life and twising seatbelts/sliding my seat so they stay tight is NOT correct, regardless of the situation, to save $50???

I just ordered one to try out, worst case is I don't like it.

Thanks for the input!
