There will be a few of us running in the 944Cup & SuperCup - first race of the 2005 series.

I'm tearing my engine down at present, and hoping to have it all stiched up in time for the race.

I'll be running the HPDE and a back up driver for the Honda Enduro.

I hope I'll run the Enduro.

See you there.

Kam,
The Cup runs with the Honda Challenge [same race group, staggered start], so if you do get to run we will be racing together.

Kam, are you thinking of running the Honda challenge? I ran one of Ian Carpenter's team cars at VIR testing in november. Great cars and I was evalutaing this vs spec miata but the competition just isn't there in Honda Challege like it is in spec miata.

Mitch:

My friend Leo joinned Ian's team with a new car which Ian is preparing. Ian is going to enter two cars for the weekend. Leo will be in the new car and Andrew will be in the other car.

This will be Leo's first race weekend and Ian was suppose to run with Leo in the new car in the enduro. Andrew is the runner up from last year's championship and he will have a better chance of winning if Ian team up with Andrew instead.

I offered myself as a backup driver if they decided to have Ian team up with Andrew.

I will be there to do the HPDE and make myself available on a as need basis.

Tony:

I hope I got to run the enduro and race with the Porsches with an Acura. All my racing experience has been with PCA club racing and have never run against Porsches in any other king of cars.

Wish me luck.

You will have a ball. Ian is a great guy and a very capable driver. His cars are extremely quick. In the last race of the series last year, Ian & Andrew started dead level on points.

Ian was one of the instructors in the NASA Comp license school I did last year. Its been good to race with him after that intro!

Come on over to the 944Cup paddock - look for #11, which looks a lot like my avatar. We often have a lunch organized for the series, and you & Leo are welcome to join us.

Tony:

I agree! I have been running PCA DE with Ian for a few years. I only got to know him personally better last year. He is definitely one of the better drivers out there and a great guy.

I wish I could run and race him in similar cars.

Kam, I ran with Leo and Ian at VIR, Leo is a great guy and I think Ian really put him through the ringer. He was wiped out after two days. Ian is really intense about his driving and knows the small points it takes to get a serious driver to the next level. Check out his deal at ICarp.net

Mitch:

Ian is a great guy but his web site has no information at all.

Its quicker to call him.
