...."I found that when wearing the Carbon-X long underwear (top, bottom, & balaclava)
I was drier, cooler, and more comfortable than wearing nothing under my suit."....

No problem Glen! Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.

I was at the PRI show a few weeks ago and got to see and feel the CarbonX up close. Simpson had a display with a butane torch constantly burning a piece of CarbonX and it never disintegrated. This seems like pretty cheap insurance to me even though I have rarely seen cars in club racing catch on fire. One broken fuel or oil line or a severe accident is all it takes.

I concur completely. In fact if You ever even see me at a DE instructing without my HANS and firesuit, just kick my butt and take the Cup, I dont deserve it at that point.

Glen,
Agree completely.
I also saw some new HANS specific harnesses from HMS at the PRI show as well. Not sure if you saw this post or not. https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...=hms+harnesses

I didn't see the Cool Shirt listed on the Simpson site. Is it available?

As I said in previous post, the Ringers Carbon-X Cool shirts are available from either Ringers or Fresh Air Systems.

You mentioned in your original post that the Sparco X light suit was not very durable. That is the suit I was going to order in the spring. Does anyone have experience with this suit. I sure don't want to spend that kind of money for something that won't give me many seasons of use.

Also, does anyone make complete driving suits of Carbon-X? Are they legal and do they meet FIA regulations? Any help would be appreciated.

Tim,
There are several manufactures that makes suits in CarbonX. Imapact racing is one (Bill Simpson's new company). Simpson, http://www.hinchmanindy.com/carbonX.htm http://www.nishmotorsports.com/sponsors.html

Just do a google search and you will find even more.

Good to see some full driving suits coming out now in CarbonX. I've got a balaclava in that fabric, need to go ahead w. underwear & socks next.
