Default Silver tape for wheel weights?

Can anyone direct me to a good source for tape to secure the flat wheel weights that were mounted with double-sided tape. I'd like something that is heat and water resistant and won't look too goofy on some polished Fuchs rims.

Thanks!

I agree with Mike Buck, by the way does anyone remember the purple tape that Hoosier use to use at Road Atlanta, it didn't last 2 laps, and then the weights lasted about 2 more. That HVAC tape lasted forever, and didn't look too bad.

That is where I get mine too. Try getting it in the insulation department. I've never had it fail, and it is relatively easy to remove.

I use Duct tape, but all of my weights are on the inside of the wheel.

The problem with "duct" tape, is that the adheasive will melt, allowing the weights to move or fall off. It is also nasty to remove. The aluminum foil tape is much more heat resistant, sticks better, and is much easier to remove - which is why all race teams use it.

The last aluminum HVAC tape I got from Home Depot says 'Nashua tape' on the inside of the roll, and works well.

Ditto. Way better than duct tape.

We use an aluminum tape that is very thin. Can't remember the name off the top of my head, but we get it at Grainger. It works GREAT for track wheels as the glue will not melt...

Kim, you have a wheel balancer hidden in your garage now?
