Default Carrera GT at our DE this weekend

I did not expect it, but we had Carrera GT out at our DE this weekend.

Owner did only a few laps but it was fun to see.

One complaint I have on the car is that it is so QUIET. Sounded like a vacuum cleaner vs a car. The GT3 sounded MUCH better.

Anyway it was really neat to see it up close. It is not like a "normal" car!

No pics however since I did not bring the camera ...

Very nice. I have yet to hear one in action. The local Porsche has one on the floor though. It certainly is quite something to see.

That's interesting, all I've heard about is how much like an F1 car it sounds.

Agreed, every video I've watched has had an impressive engine sound.

Had one in my run group at Pocono in early October. It sure sounded real nice as it zoomed by me 3X per session (except for when he over cooked the first turn and went (safely) off the pavement - no damage to the car at all.

I seem to recall reading (or hearing) that Porsche had assigned a team of 7 or 8 engineers whose exclusive job was to work on the exhaust note of the Carrera GT, to make certain that the car sounded "like a Porsche" - and not like a Ferrari.

Similarly. Saw a Carrera GT well exercised at the August TWS PCA DE....coming onto the front straight..with the V10 howling. Damn, where did I put that spare $450k.

Whilst I love the sound of the Gt3....it pales in comparison.
