Great clips indeed Jack, thanks for sharing!

I always wondered if there was enough space to slow down before the green wall if you did have an off in 8, and it seems there is ample space there.

Well, it seems that all those I hear saying they wish for a more technical layout when I'm at the track have little to say here, and the overwhelming voice is one of a love of the track just the way it is, so that answers that.

Forget the question, and let's move on, and see if anyone thinks they could improve on Laguna?

Jack,

Incredible video...I can hardly wait to get back to the WSIR...POC and PCA have a number of dates there in 2005 as does the Alfa Club, the Pantera Club, Viper days, etc.

Is it faster than the kink? As I recall, the kink was a light lift for mere mortals, Turn 8 at WSIR is foot to the floor and a prayer that the car will stay on the track. I get to about 120 mph before braking for 9...a really fast car, let's say a 550 HP 993 TT car, will see 140 mph, so I have been told. That is bloody fast.

I'd like it if they'd clean off my paint smudge. That damned wall cost me an awful lot of money.

Good thing the owner had some foresight to get jump through all those hoops now rather than wait until it became a big political mess.
That's good to hear. I've always liked the open layout of the track. I've seen so many PCA, SCCA, etc...races there. I like how the track climbs up the mountain then goes back down.

Chris,
Thanks for the reply. What times have you run in the C class 993RS you have?

Jack,

Was that between turns 10 & 11 @ Laguna?

I put two wheels off coming out of 9, with a wet outfield, and went into the wall at a pretty good clip. The car was totaled. I was fine.

(Another lesson learned.)

Ouch, Jack!

Come to think of it, I think I remembered you posting that picture on Pelican. Sorry to see it, man. I'm glad you & BB2 have recovered well, though, with that 1:30 lap @ Willow!

Thanks. That accident is why there's a "2" in BB2.

Jack, I SWEAR your videos and pictures are costing me 20 seconds per lap based on the fear factor effect!
All kidding aside, I hope to get a drive with you this year and get into the 1:3x range.

You guys should come out December 7th with All-Import Racing or January 8-9th with the Alfa Romeo club. I'll be teaching the classroom session at the December 7th event.

And at the last Alfa event I did a lead-follow session with a guy who'd never been able to break 1:40 with his 3.2. We were able to get down to a mid-1:37 for him.

That's very cool, Jack. Isn't it a great feeling when you can help someone like that?
