Default Another Track Video

I wanted to take some video this weekend since we were running the track (MSR) backwards (CW) from its typical direction (CCW). We only got one real dry session, and it was the first session of the weekend. Anyway, here is the video:

Damn, over 90 viewings and not a single comment. You have to admit, it’s a safe track. Not a single thing to hit. This was an event were we can pass everywhere, even in the turns.

Well here's my take. Looks like a great track for a race; nice and wide, with plenty of room to be aggressive. Only two things; where's the 160 mph straight & the high speed turn that separates the men from the boys?

BTW, nice video. Your camera placement really gives you a good look at the track, IMHO.

You are absolutely correct about the 160mph strait. That's the track major complaint, not enough straight away. We are actually traveling clockwise, the opposite of norm, on that track in the video. It makes the highest speed turn into a decreasing radius turn. In the clockwise direction, there is one turn that you can really tell who’s timid.

The track owner is going to build another track next to it. The initial plan called for a 1.5 mile track with 6 turns and 70 feet of elevation change. The current track is 1.7 miles long with 11 turns and 40 feet of elevation change. He wants to be able to connect the two to make one long one. The big question he had for us was whether he should use asphalt or concrete. The current section is asphalt.

Should be fun.

Joseph,

MSR, is in Cresson, TX, about 30 minutes southwest of downtown Fort Worth. I bet it's about 3 hours for you, same as Hallett. I highly recomend you give MSR a try. It has to be one of the safest tracks I've ever seen. Based on your pic, it looks like you've got an E36 M3. The local BMW chapter has at least two DE's and a club race every year at MSR. Lot's of E36 M3 out there.
