How good are full depth Toyos in the rain?

Here's visual evidence.

I moderately suck.

But that's me on the pole for the PCA production class enduro at Road America this year. Those are a bunch of under-any-other-circumstances faster cars and faster drivers behind me thanks to a very wet qualifying session and the Toyos.

(By the way, I managed to hold the lead for at least two hundred yards.)

Hey Mike, I think that might be grounds for suspension from the HWFM team. Or at least probation. However, as you are the founder and I assume you bought at least a fifth for everyone in attendance you will probably get off with just a warning .

I assume our team disciplinarian has already covered this though...

P.S. are there anymore window banners still available?

Try www.treadepot.com

I paid 159.00 each for 205/225/16's a while ago total came to under 700 shipped.

Another reason to order locally. I just called around and found my best price in town ($134.71 each). During the conversation the owner asked me if I raced. When I said that I would be testing for my comp license in Feb he informed me that his shop sponsored racers. I was told to give him a call once I had a race to two under my belt to discuss

I have very good luck with Yoko A032Rs in the rain...they were excellent when new and are still very good now. Don't know if they are better than the RA1 though.

Local will save $$$, but these folks seemed very reasonable for mine (and local Chicago). Frisby supports a bunch of the spec racers and such in the Midwest. I assume they will mail-order (had to fly my 235/45/17's in from their associate in CA).

Another vote for the RA-1s. Another vote for Frisby as well. Good prices, excellent service. I can attest to the Toyos ability to pump water. My first event on them was in the remnants of a hurricane and they performed extremely well. If you'd like to see a photo of them in action (taken by a commercial photograper, I didn't buy the image, but its up on his page) you can view it at: http://www.photoreflect.com/scripts/...um=0&adjust=-1

No, the Mother Superior is afraid of me. She wouldn't dare.

As to the fifth, that is for a podium, so I'm safe. Plus I managed to do it in a very HWFM manner.

I had a few "lurid slides" (as D Bell used to say) in getting my fast laps in.

I do have one window banner, but it would be cheaper for you to get it directly from the source - e-decals.com. I will look up which one I ordered, and get it to you.

Just as a note. Toyo reciently lowered the prices on some popular sizes. This was done starting march 1 2004 so some older tire purchases will apper higher in cost.
