Seems like a little "Catch-22" here. Yes, it would be quite a bit harder for EMT to get you out, but with full containment and a Hans type device, the chances for spinal injury should be greatly reduced.

One would think, but we only have to look at Junior's escape while on fire in the Corvette.

Please believe I'm not dissing these seats. I think it would be absolutely wonderful for driving and H&N containment. I'd need to be more certain I could extract myself quickly enough.

I can speak only of experience with my Sparco Touring seat which is partial containment. I can get out pretty quickly and have practiced. I use a diving/rolling motion and am out in less than 2 secconds. If need be, I can pop the wheel off and give myself more exit room. Now I certainly don't know how well it would work if it was for real. Nobody does unless it happens.

Last weekend I got to sit in the ultrashield seat that John installed in his client's 951. Very comfortable and secure feeling. The seat envelops the driver.

The covering material looked (felt) like cordura which should be durable and cool.

I like this seat enough to want one for my 968 track car project.
