We were there last weekend for the PBOC endurance race. We finished first overall, lapping the entire field in our '97 RSR. Our fastest lap for the weekend was a 1:32.2, we were hoping to see a low :31...there's always next time! I am in the process of putting up pictures on the website, they should be there by this afternoon. www.rrracing.org

WIll be there with PCA end of the month, was trying to make time to go this weekend but will be doing an autocross instead. Have not done an autocross in the 951 so it will be interesting.
Have a great time.

I'll be at VIR in early Nov with the NNJR and mid Nov with G&W. My last two events for the year.
Damn Jason, a 1:32.2! I'm still stuck at in the low 1:40's although last time my Hot Lap came up with a 1:39. Not sure if I really made that or not...

Congratulate Robert Jarvis and Ryan Hulbert for the :32.2 They are the drivers for R&R Racing. They'll be @ RA for the DE later this month. Look for the white RSR with R&R Racing on the Doors. Our next scheduled race is at Barber with the PBOC November 19-21.

Tim, you heard correctly. I was there Sunday only and the chief instructor told us of the accident. Spec Miata driver known to be on the edge, lost it in the esses hitting the inside wall. Broken pelvis, collor bone, ribs punchured lung, concussion etc... We heard by end of day Sunday he was doing well.
It made everyone a bit tense going thru the esses, especially after a SHO blew its engine at the top & dumped 6 qrts thru the line.

These Panoz days are getting dangerous! The last few times I've been there... seems like a couple of cars get wadded up badly on Sunday. I sure hope the driver comes out O K.
It's basicly... "open track" without a lot of supervision. Usually, the cars involved are high horse-power Vipers and such. A spec Miata... being pushed too hard... I guess!
We ran two NASA SE events there this year. The first event had... ZERO problems... but we did see a couple of "incidents" at the second event in August. Nothing like the injuries reported here though!

The PBOC enduro held on Friday Oct 1 saw a rather bad incident as far as the car goes. Our driver was preparing to lap the second placed car, a 996 GT3RS that actually placed second at the '03 24hrs du mans, as our driver followed him up the hill from turn one, his car kept turning right and the left rear hit the wall. He was fine, but the car was pretty dinged up.

David heard it right about the Miata. Also, I think 2-3 cars blew there motors Sunday. Seemed that way.
David, what run group were you in Sun? A or B? I don't remember you being out there in A?
I set my fastest lap after the clean up/lunch time at 1:41:45. Just a little bit more and it would be high 1:30's!

Great job A930Rocket! I set my best lap qualifying for the PBOC enduro at 1:41.7 - complete details on separate thread. Dropping a valve is one thing but I just don't "get it" how so many cars blow engines at a DE - I continously monitor the vitals and have use warning lights, AF meters, etc.

Well tell that to my friend Ralph who recently had his engine rebuilt professionally and it let go on the Dyno during tuning...
I know its not DE, but he was preparing for a DE event I guess you would say...
Does that count?

Yeah.. and how about those old 911's always breaking torsion bars and various other components in the front suspension...flying into the kitty litter and throwing rocks all over the track.
You got us poor water pumpers dodging rocks, oil, bits of metal, staying out of the way of faster cars, running off track in the process, it's tough racing in a slow car.
Great weekend Mike!
