What stock PCA class for the 997S
I don't have any plans to race a 997S, but I'm curious where the PCA will put it. Seems like B would be a problem since it has no chance of beating a GT3 or GT2. C would also be a problem given the performance advantage over the 996, but I bet that is where it ends up.

Actually I'd bet in goes in B.
Looking at the power curve from a 997S it has more power through out most of the curve. Given a favorable weight i'd bet a with stock class mods a 997S and a GT3 would close.
Even 100% stock I think the 997S would hold its own, but th edge will go to the GT3. Allow damper and spring rate chnages and I think that would level the playing field. I would also bet that the 997S has superior suspension geometry to the GT3. Kind of like how the GT3 RS had modifed pick-up points to make GT3 RSR faster. I'd be that they included some that stuff in the 997 Suspension design. So work with spring rates and dampers and you may have better set-up. The biggets issue will be weight of the car. The weight alone may put it in C however.

Hmm this gets me thinking....
Do BOTH the 997 and 997S go in "C"
I can't think of them being in the same class so if the 997S is "C" does that put the 997 in "D"? So stock 997 is in a slower class than stock 996?
I am thinking PCA may need adjust the upper stock classes pretty soon and reorganize it and maybe even create more room for classes above B and A etc...

The Porsche website lists the 997S at 355 hp / 3131 which would put the ratio at 8.81. That would place it in C. It might be a good match for the 993 TT at 8.5 since it will probably have more useable power and weigh less. The 993 RSCS will still be tough to beat though as I think 300 hp is a under-statement for that car and it runs at only 2790 lbs. and has a wing. I think weight is really worth more than hp on the track. The 996's will probably not be very competitive in C once the 997's show up. Of coarse there is always that little matter of the driver as well. I wonder how long it will be before a 997S shows up for a race ? Should be interesting.
Oh the 997 will also probably be in C given 325 hp and 3075 lbs. for a ratio of 9.4. I think the 997S will be the car to have, but it isn't cheap and if I was spending the money, I'd just find a GT3 ( really I'd just buy a GT3 Cup and be ready to go for the same money ).
