I'm running 245/45 16 Hoosier R3S03's front and rear, I need advice on the optimal cold and hot tire pressures to minimise understeer.

I'm not a racer, and I run 225/245 032r's. However, FWIW,the MPSC website presentation suggests 8-9 psi more in the front than at the back for this 225/245 combination. Hard to believe, but I tried it. I've been running it over the past year, and it has certainly evened out the wear at the back. At even pressures of 32 cold/40 hot, I was only wearing out the middle third of the back tires. With this pressure differential, there is less understeer, although it certainly still underteers. With 245's on the front, it will be a different story. I did it once, but it was a little too sensitive for me at Mosport.

I run 245/45/16 Hoosier S03s (and now S04s) on a 944T all the way around. I always put about 1-2 psi higher in front than rear. So Im usually around 37-38 front 36-37 rear cold, and that usually ends up close to 42-45 psi hot. If that understeers more than you like (very dependent on springs and sway bars), drop the front 2 psi, then raise the rear 2 psi.

JF,
If you go to the Tire Rack site there is an article on the correct tire pressures for Hossier radials. Type in "competiton tires" for your search and scroll through to the article.
BTW, on my 968 I run the same pressure all around. When I come off, the backs are slightly higher (about .5 to 1.5 lbs more) than the fronts. I have not tried running with more air up front than in the rear. I've got plently of understeer, which is fine with me - at least for now.
Anyway, I believe that the tire will dictate the correct pressures rather than the model Porsche you are driving.
