Flagtronics ?
HSR requires these now. Does anyone know if PCA, SVRA, NASA also puts out these signals . maybe I have been out of touch for too long. Seems like a very useful instrument. thanks frank

We have been using it for the past 2 years in WRL. They have now added Driver ID to it as well in WRL and we wear an RFID puck so the can see who is in the car (although they have not transmitted this to live feed race broadcast coverage yet).
If you position the module well on the dash it is nice to have. In WRL at least it does not do local incident flags, only full course (as in it won't show one corner with a waving yellow).
In some restarts after FCC/FCY the Flagtronics will beat my spotter on the radio to green. Sometimes it lags behind though, so you have to go with whichever is first.
It has a pit speed indicator that will flash at you over the pit speed limit (our cars aren't fancy enough to have pit limiters), as well as a pit timer, which are both very nice to have.
Overall it's a good tool to have available, especially in endurance racing.

I really wish PCA would do this. They are amazing in AER. Local yellows. Virtual pace cars (code 35).
all us racecar drivers would complain, but I think that the real cost is the logistics with each race being run by a different org. National would have to help run everything.
Last night I had a dream that I passed under yellow.. has this really displaced the forgot to-wear-pants dreams … or just added to them?🤷♂️

Flagtronics works by zones, so I have argued that we need to use FIA flagging by zones to correspond with Flagtronics, but so far the SCCA flagging rules do not correspond with zones. There have also been a few people complaining that vibration can set off the crash indication in Flagtronics, which requires the driver to press a button to confirm they are OK.
