Has anyone eliminated the Carbon Canister and the rest of the emissions equipment on their track car? I’m looking to dump a little more weight and need to know how everything gets rerouted after it is removed.

Weight? It weighs squat. The undercoating on the car weighs ten times what the total evap system weighs, and you have NO IDEA how many hoses there are!!!

As long as you add a vent, and re-attach the vacuum lines to something else, or cap them, you'll be OK.

Course, then you have to deal with gas fumes.

Hey John. How much would you say it weighs? If it’s only ~1lb I won’t bother, but more then 5lbs and it goes.

As far as adding a vent, I’m guessing the line going to the carbon canister is the line from the tank. What if I simply disconnect that and vent it to the atmosphere somewhere around the tank? Would that work? I never seen a diagram so I’m a little in the dark.

Hey;

I would strongly suggest looking toward more "lucrative" weight savings than the few pounds the cannister weighs. Putting up with the fumes is not worth it.

If you must, remove the vent line coming from the rear and plumb it into the airbox.

Well, I lost almost 300lbs so far and can't find anything else without getting into bodywork. Maybe I'll try it with everything in tack and if the smell is unbearable I can easily put everything back.
