I was told that more stickers would enhance laminar flow like dimples on a golf ball. With that rationale, if one is good, fifty is perfect.

Thanks fo making it funny, Manny.

Great job Mark!

Manny,
when will the info regarding the VIR event be out? Two sprint races?
Thanks

Last I heard they were trying for a sprint and a sixty minute enduro...not alot of track time because they it's part of a Grand Am weekend, but spectators and atmosphere might make up for it Not sure when registration opens, but I'm sure soon.

Thanks, Greg. I emailed Rebecca last week and she said registration should begin in two weeks.

Thanks guys! I love VIR and did the first Club race there and even with the miserable weather had a blast. A 60 minute enduro would be great! LEss practice and more racing.

Congrats, Mark. I too hope to join in the CRacing soon. Perhaps at the end of the season or maybe Sebring in Feb.
See you around.

Bill - I hope to see you on the track, either at a DE or, even better, in a CR!

Congrats Mark! Great write up.

I just recently went through the same thing (first 2 races at California Speedway, and second 2 at Las Vegas). Fun stuff. I can't wait until I get to do it again. But there are no more PCA Club Races out west here until next year .

Mark: As a fellow "D" class racer, come south for a few races. Are you planning to use VIR as your next race?

Greg: Ahhh we shall meet again. VIR - Lord willing of course. No word on the traps yet. Gordon went to Indianapolis with a couple of clients and he'll get on it when he gets back.

The Family's Summer travel schedule doesn't involve racing...bummer. It's the southern "off" season down here. I hope I don't forget how to drive!

Mark:
Way to go on the Best Rookie award. I got that one as well at my first race. I never did take advantage of the Forgeline gift certificate though (a little late now) and it's still sitting in my desk drawer.

You are right. DE's will no longer be the same. Racing is a different animal. Like Tony Kelly said in another post, its comparing armed combat to paintball.

I registered for the SP race so see you there.

Mike - Thanks! Time for a road trip to Texas Motor Speedway or Pueblo.

Mac - Yep, I'm doing VIR. It'll be my last race of the year. Looking forward to meeting you; sorry I missed you at Sebring.

Mark - I can't wait for my next competitive event. Racing is just too much damn fun! See you at Summit.

Mark;

I just found time to come up for air after the race. If I were to write a report, it would be a mirror copy of yours. Get this:
-I put two rotors under the spare tire to make weight.
-I brought a Camel Back with me for fluids. (It did not make it into the car.)
-I caught the second full course yellow perfectly, which was a large part of my 4th in class finish.
-I did not spin but came very close during the last 2-3 lap sprint. I'm still not sure how many laps we had after that guy smacked the armco. I just about went around going into 6 (left hander "laces") with a bunch of rabid dogs behind me. I actually think it helped because some of them checked up.
-I was called to the scales after the sprint. Get this.... I weighed in at 3060 exactly. How is that for luck.
-I fueled as late as I could and took as much as possible just to make weight.

It was great to meet you as well as everyone else. I'm negotiating with Visa, Mastercard, Amex and my wife to let me do 1-2 more races this year. I'm thinking Mosport and Carolina Motorsports Park in November.

Don,

Weird. Sounds like we had very similar experiences.

Congrats on your 4th in class! It was great to meet you. You should swing down and do Summit and/or VIR.

Mark:

congrats on the Rookie award.

I, too, recall a similar wall-kissing incident and Sebring (blue paint vs styrofoam dust--Hmmm). This is not a proper habit to be forming. I think we all could use your golden horseshoe (after it goes through the parts washer).

Someday, someday...

TT/Glen,

My horseshoe is available for rent. Remember how I got that scar between my eyes? I hope there's some good mojo left.
