Default Log book

Can anyone share what they use for a log book?
What does a typical log book look like?
What do you keep inside?

Rookie in the making.

Thanks;

The organization that you are racing with will usually provide one. you have to keep it in the car at all times and the book goes with the car when you sell it. The scrutineers will make notes on what needs to be changed before the next race.

If you are looking for set up sheets, that is a different story. I made one in excel that I log all of the data that I want to track.

When you go through tech for your first race they will issue you a Log Book. Every time you race they stamp a page and log any car damage, infractions or mods. PCA, NASA, SCCA will each issue a book for your car.

the log book will be given to you at your first race.

looks like a 5X7 soft cover stapled together book with about 20 pages

Pictures of the car (front and rear quarter) ,the current tech sheet along with tech verification for each race the car attends

The log book belongs to and with the car and is very easy to misplace. Nothing more frustrating than to be packing up for the weekend and not being able to find it. Keep it in the glove compartment if you still have one.

best of luck in your rookie race

Well, if you are talking about a PCA clubracing logbook, you will be given one at your first race. You need a couple pictures. The scrut's will write in changes that need to be made to the car before the next race. Thats pretty much all its used for, but we use it to keep track of fastest laptimes, wins, and some setup info.

edit: you guys type too fast!

Make sure you take 2 photos of your car with you to the race. Also a zip lock plastic bag helps protect the book.

I wish the PCA logbook was of better quality. It reminds me of something a kindergarten child would make in crafts class - complete with the day-glo construction paper. Frankly, it's embarrassing.

JC

Color in the PCA logo and laminate the cover. That will dress it up for you

Bill,

The car looks great! Come out to Summit on Friday for a Seat Time so I can see it and hear it! Sorry for off the topic.....

I saw a 993 Cup Car's log book for the Supercup series (it may have been the German Carrera Cup), and it didn't look much different than ours, if that makes you feel any better

Now, the Zone 2 DE log book...now that's a log book...'course, I'm a little biased

My old skydiving logbook had a neat little rubber stamp so that you could recreate the formations in the book. Maybe a little car stamp would be good for our PCA log books so we can recreate our mishaps ;-)

Nah, the rubber car stamps are silhouettes. They're for the door.
