Thanks Peter. Nice of you to offer some advice based on your own / real usage.
Kuhmo V730 tops out at 275/35/18 so that isn't going to work
Nankang CR-S does come in 255/35 and 315/30 for 18", so that is a good possibility (but USA stock looks low/none)
Bridgestone RE-71RS: I now see them listed on the Bridgestone site in 295/30 and 255/35 for 18", but I don't see the 295 at Tire Rack. That would be a good possibility.
Thanks!!

Also compound trumps size every time. Those are words of wisdom many people forget.

Replace the clutch. The clutch is relatively cheap.
The work is trivial when the engine is out.. Non-trivial once everything is put together.
With more power plus existing wear its worth considering.
My rule of thumb is to replace the clutch whenever the engine is out.

Tires
Based on feedback in this thread, and some other web searching, here is what I found for tire options. I still need to run them past Paul at Radial Tire (my local shop) for his opinion and pricing. Wheels are 18". I have them roughly sorted in terms of my interest. Since Paul gets so much feedback from track drivers, I think he might be the deciding vote.
Bridgestone RE-71RS (200tw)
255/35 ($319 @ TR) and 295/30 ($386 @ TR) [$1410]
Nankang CR-S V2 (200tw)

Yokohama Advan A052 (200tw)
255/35 ($347 @ TR) and 315/30 ($505 @ TR); stock in August and early Sept [$1704]
Nitto NT01 (100tw)

Fyi i just had a set of nt-01 delivered by tirebuyer in those sizes last week for $1238. 10% coupon and no sales tax to DE. Its my 3rd set i have got this year. Look around they r out there. I get around 50 heat cycles and they dont fall off.
R they the fastest? No but when u stack, price and longevity into the equation they r hard to beat.

OP,
Have you also checked out the RC1s from Maxxis? Not a fan of the v1s but supposedly the v2s were MUCH better and are a great value. Any RT660s available near your sizing? On your list of tires I don't think you can go wrong. How bout trying them all?? :-)

Current (all used up) tires are RT660's. Previous set was Continental ExtremeContactForce. Slight preference to the Conti's over the Falken's.
Thanks.

TR is now a Nankang CR-S dealer and have some sizes in stock. Just got a set of 245/35 19and 295/30 19 for the GT4. Be advised they run wide on tread width. The 295/30 rear is ~12" tread width and 245/35 front is ~9.5" tread width. They are pricey though.

Here is a listing of characteristics for the three tires I have used most recently (A, B, C) and the four new ones I am considering. Yellow highlighted cells mean there is conflicting data online. Otherwise, I think it is all correct. Most tires look fairly available except for the Nankang that seems to have had a shipping delay. Maybe there are others out there, but these are the best four I have found with sizes meeting my needs. Sorry if it is blurry. I can attach the Excel file if anyone wants it.

Steve
TR tread width numbers are screwy at least in the 2 sizes I purchase. Looking at their tread width numbers it looks like the generic tread width numbers not actual measured numbers. Kangs run wide

255/35: SW = 10.2, TW =10.2
315/30: SW = 12.6, TW = 12.4
Does this seem reasonable?
