Default rod bearing break in

I just changed the rod bearind on my 87 951 that I have turned into a track only car. Being that I can't drive the car on the street, is there anything I should do to break in the bearings prior to my next track day? IE run the car for 15 min a couple times a week etc? Thanks

Hey;

Assuming everything was perfect, startup is where most of the "damage" would occur. There is nothing like load to set things in place, but I don't think you are going to have any problems. Letting it run for a good long time will set a good polish on the bearings, and wouldn't hurt a bit. Perhaps at idle the first time, then up to 2000 the next, 4000 the next.

I guess I'd go out and take it easy for at least the first session, progressively getting harder into the boost as the day wore on. I might wait an event or two to really hammer it.

Or, you can do like a local NASCAR racer friend of mine. He says "If it's gonna blow, it's gonna blow. If it's a good one, it won't. Might as well find out right away!"

Know anybody with a dealer plate?
