PCA has 21 (?) paid employees and at least the current president who is a club racer. Why don't they either pay Brian for Rennpoints or do it themselves?

I believe PCA club racing has just 1 person that is paid. Everyone else is a volunteer.

That is probably correct. When club racing was started 30 (?) years ago, it was very different as was PCA. It was never supposed to have a financial impact on PCA. I think at this point, we can say the program is a success, it benefits a ton of members, and the club CAN afford to help it out. Adding some support from the club seems like the right thing to do. But, that's just my opinion.

Shows my P2 for 911Cup at VIR but no points. How am I supposed to win the national championship?

Looks like the NJMP Thunderbolt Club Race is missing from the Lap Time Predictions tab.

Bump. Anyone know why there are no points showing for the first sprint race at VIR?

RennPoints is mostly logic based using PCA Championship rules and data in MyLaps. Exception situations mess things up.

possible explanation: 911Cup racing with the Vintage Group creates problems for the logic. Silver group had 3 sprint races with 911 Cup in that group only for the 1st 2 races plus then they raced in the Enduro. Standard Logic uses last 3 races for the weekend: so logic used enduro plus last 2 Silver group sprint races, as the logic does not know that for 911Cup only the first two sprint races count.

Take a look at Mike Piera’s points. He raced in Silver sprint race 3, and was not appropriately classed as VO in that race, instead he shows up as 911Cup and RennPoints logic awards him 10 points for the win as the only 911Cup.

@Brian P can you take a look and do manual corrections. For 911Cup use sprint race 1 and 2 plus enduro. Any 911Cup racers that were in Silver Sprint race 3 should have been classed as VO in that race. And THANK YOU for all the time and effort you spend maintaining RennPoints. It’s a fantastic tool even with small stuff like this being off.

Also remember that RennPoints is not the official scoring system for PCA. Brian is just kind enough to keep it running. 👏

The official PCA data is here: https://pcaclubracing.org/standings/ (hopefully David Anderson (?) will have some time in the near future to update his data set and get it posted to the webpage.

With so many volunteers I wouldn't feel right about taking money. Besides, it's basically dirt cheap to keep it running... The total bill comes to about $20 per year.

I can add Sprint 1 and exclude Mike from sprint 3. However, if he should be classed as VO, the best solution is to have Dave Anderson fix the class and republish the results.

I’ll reach out to David about Mike’s classification in Silver sprint 3. 911Cup is correct for him for Silver Sprint 1 & 2. Silver sprint 3 was the bonus race for Vintage class cars (Mike’s car car is eligible as class VO in Vintage group.)

If Mike is changed to VO in Silver Sprint 3 will that fix the championship points for 911Cup at VIR, or will you still have to make manual adjustments so that 911Cup championship races at VIR are Silver sprint 1 & 2 and the enduro?

I manually adjusted Mike but it would still be best if it gets fixed by Dave. If I ever need to reimport the VIR race I won’t need to remember to do this adjustment
