Ill take thoughts from the peanut gallery as im always willing to learn. Due to good flaggers and drivers all were safe in the end.

At least it is on the same side of the track as the apex. Turn 4 at Laguna is a right hander and the flag station is on the left behind the fence. When you are busy on the track your eye has no reason to ever look over there except of the fact that you should know that the station is there. Why is it there? The only reason that makes sense is they don't want to block the view from the stands as the cars run down from turn 3 to turn 4.

Off subject...Maybe the problem I see is that you weren't wearing gloves. They work great in an accident, especially when the car's on fire.

Not sure why its like that? They do fly the checker there but there usually isnt someone in the box.
Valid point.

Didn’t really look that close to me. I think a large factor was you weren’t going very fast (1:19 on prior lap - might have been early in the weekend/session).

From the second video, appears that maybe you had given the Camaro behind you a point-by on the straight, but they backed out before passing when they saw the waving yellow off in the distance. If so, heads-up driving by the Camaro. That could also explain why you might not have seen the yellow immediately—you may have been focused on getting the Camaro around you to the inside of the approaching turn. Glad all ok.

The flaggers location is not ideal for the situation but in a DE I would have given a little pause if I saw that much dirt on the horizon. Unfortunate that there was no flagger at start/finish as a yellow there would have been ideal.
I love NJMP but their flaggers are sometimes not the best. A few years ago someone dropped a ton of oil at T2 during a race. Note the flagger looking down at her phone at T1 and at the same time there is a mess of cars and oil everywhere at T2. Luckily as I got my eyes up coming into the turn I came off throttle to narrowly avoid becoming part of the incident.
