So about as fast as a street 992 GT3 on DOT tires.

But WOW, they totally crushed the GT4 class!!! Does that class have BOP?

Yes, a major BOP, which is why they’re a few seconds quicker uncorked.

I still think it’s not quite on to compare a GT4 formula to an unrestricted supercar for the street, much less the one make GT3 Cup and GT3 formula in general.

A lap time is a very gross measure of performance…

Premat (with MacAleer, what a driver combo) in the RS1 car on pole at an 11 flat. Bleekemolen’s car out for the weekend with damage in the session. That’s sad, as he was P1 in Practice 2. Those guys can’t catch a break between Daytona and here…

Totally agree Peter!

The under the surface of the water theme of this thread and the reason it was started (I know the OP) is an ongoing argument as to which is better, the GT4RS or the GT3. Many folks are convinced the GT4RS is faster, and that their Ring time was botched on purpose, etc. Lol, all fun.

There is no way the GT4 RS is faster than the GT3. Regardless of engine location, the GT3 suspension is far superior....

Now they are restricted to run 2:10. And in skeen’s vid, his car was not on stickers.

Hard to say on some smooth tracks. Mid engine is also far superior….

Smooth tracks, bumpy tracks….it doesn’t matter. The 992 GT3 suspension is double wishbone front and multi link rear. The GT4 RS has McPherson struts on all four corners.

The mid-engine layout is better but certainly not “far superior”. The main advantage for competition has to do with the effectiveness of the rear diffuser design.

I’m RV’ing at turn 1 this week as usual. I never fail to be amazed at how fast those top prototypes go through this turn. They can’t be much slower than F1 cars!

Thirty to thirty eight more miles per hour quicker vMin than a fast GT car!

Just curious, does anyone know what kind of HP the 4RS is making with the current BoP restrictor in place?

I’m in turn 4 and can see all the way down into the exit of turn 1, it is amazing to watch the commitment of the fast drivers as they come out of 1 and down into 3
