Default Selling my Spec 944 - Price Check?

Hey everyone, considering selling my Spec 944 as it's been a few years since I've been able to get it on a track.

Purchased circa 2012 out of AZ, I've had it in a few HPDE but never raced it. Lots of spares (transmission, heads, wheels etc). Has a logbook from previous owner who built the car and campaigned it for several years.

Just de-wintereized it, put in some new race gas and it started right up, however the Toyo's on it are past their prime.

Ballpark price? Need to determine if it's worth the hassle of selling myself or if I should just put it up for auction.

TIA!

Hard to say -- I would think you could get at least $10K and quite possible more. Depends on hours on the engine, maintenance, cage, electronics. Age of harnesses etc.

Appreciate you weighing in. Unfortunately it's quite difficult to find comps for track cars, and where available it appears as though prices vary wildly.

Either way I have to take some pictures, so stay tuned.

Yes get some information and pics posted that helps describe your car so we can help you with a price.
I am seeing prices to the moon on Bring A trailer for anything that is fluffed up.

Believe I looked hard at this car back in 2012. Well prepared by the owner at the time. I believe selling then for health reasons. Eventually purchased a 944 with AIM data acquisition system. Can set a reserve value and then have bidding, such as on BAT.

Unfortunately you have to take into consideration all the items that may be expired , for instance the seat, harnesses, window nets , fuel cell, etc …
Obviously the tires are toast, does it have a data system and all sorts of other things.
For some reason SP1 and SP2 944’s don’t hold a very high resale value !

Cheers

Do you even race, bro?

Don't know why you chose my thread to troll, but on the off chance you're serious, try using google before you post.

Sugarwood,

I race a 30 year old SP2 car and i'm very content ... sure i would love to drive a GT3 Cup car but we all have different situations so it is what it is.
Most people who own 944's ( like Dubbed for instance ) usually do their own maintenance and repairs which is also
part of the fun. There are many levels of preparation regarding 944's and i can vouch that i race with people who's 944's are worth
three times as much as mine and get cleaned and polished after every session ...
Pretty hard to put a value on a Spec car as they're all vastly different in many ways !

Cheers
Phil
