Speaking of concours I represent the opposite mentality. Zoom in to see several days of track grime on my car. I’m thinking it might be about time to wash it though but just in order to improve lap times from weight savings.

Years ago my wife told me we were going to another couple's house for dinner but don't worry the husband is a car guy so you will like him. Not only was he a concours guy, but it was with a Corvette Z06. He tells me he had it up to 90mph on the highway the other day and I responded that I drive faster than that in my SUV. That was in the first 15 minutes of meeting him so it was a long night.
The wives are no longer friends.
Concours people are weirdos.

Micro fiber cloth is an understatement. (Sorry LV, it was there)….

Actually that day at LRP with you guys last season was a ton of fun. Watching you eat chicken fingers with dipping sauce was just a bonus…..
Looking forward to it again this season (Lime Rock, not the chicken fingers).

I do not know what that means, but I’ll agree with you to keep the peace.

Glad nothing very bad happened.

I was, yet gain, lucky. Studs sheared but dual axles can hold the trailer up. Flatbed driver hollered at me for not driving at 40 mph to next exit.
Me - "you can do that?!"
Him - "hell yes; better than getting killed here on the Thruway"

Ah, the memories of feeling the trailer wobble and then noticing one trailer wheel heading down the passing lane at, oh, 70mph.

Does boating offer similar “whoops/ I didn't know you could do that!” opportunities as the track hobby did?

Nice chatting with you Rich. As I recall you were one of my instructors years ago. Always nice to see long time track enthusiasts. I sort of envy you having a house in Sebring. That highway 27 trip from Orlando area is brutal!

I'm not going to name names but a fellow CVR member passed me in my trailer, while he was pulling a trailer, on the winding portion of Rt. 7 next to the Housatonic River on the way to Lime Rock Park. And no, it was not done in one of the very few straight portions of that drive.
