I like the one that has most of the front straight, turn 1, all of Long Pond Straight, all of Turn 2, and you make the left into the infield at Devil's Elbow.
Very high speeds, especially on Long Pond.
Not sure but it may be called the "Mega" configuration.
The shorter configs using mostly infield are basically long autocrosses.

The right hander through the ditch to get onto the back straight aweful, but the high speed, high bank turn 2 almost makes it worth traversing.

My fav part of Pocono is running most or all of the front straight and then the heavily banked Turn 1 (Nascar Turn). Do I have T-1 and T-2 mixed up? T-1 is the steep banking turn, yes?
Love that, and when you nail it right, you get flung onto Long Pond straight at 125+ mph and then it's just super high speeds all the way to the apex of T-2 (also banked, but not as much as T-1).
I hope I am not confusing T-1 and T-2. Heck, there's only 3 turns on the triangle.
Here is what i have run clockwise (yellow) so i have not done turn 1. Also my lack of experience maybe why i think turn 2 was a high bank.
So the one I like most is close to that config, but you stay on the triangle for Turn 1. Lots of speed, lots, by the end of Long Pond Straight.
I don't like the shorter infield configs at Pocono. So much compression between the triangle and the infield entrances and exits.
I do really like that Mega configuration though. Been a few years since we (NNJR) have been there. Used to be a regular annual event for us, but not in the last few years,
HOD runs the Mega there, so keep an eye out for that.
Tough turn of events loosing the weds before the Clash to nascar. Wgi is 16 hour round trip from my house…tough to justify. Racers will get more track time I imagine (just a guess, not actual information).

Regardless, I don’t miss a Niagara event ever so I’ll be adding your “day” onto that.
I’m 4 hours minimum most mornings from East Hampton to you. Full length of the LIE is a warmup for the cross bronx, and there’s been construction on the throgs neck and gw bridges for a decade. I generally leave before 9:30am to arrive at the Horseheads Dandy around 5 pm.
Bruce, you have the events backwards. Clash is in June. Nascar t&t precedes metro this year. I suggested Niagara come down for the single Thursday June 16.
Chin into Niagara into 3 days of metro (into china cat sunflower/know you rider) is the summer date.
