Would like to install an intercom system (driver/instructor) for DE events. I'm wondering what a preferred installation would consist of. Tnx

The "chatterbox" available at http://www.stableenergies.com/home.asp works very well.

NOT Nady - they don't hold up. I have yet to see or hear of one that hasn't failed in this usage. They just aren't built sturdy enough for the repeated insertion/removal that occurs in this scenario. I've heard good things about the Chatterbox.

This will start to get dull soon - Chatterbox is a great solution.

It works really well under any conditions you are likely to find in DE, and a single battery charge is more than enough for a three day event with two students and the odd rider in your car.

Chatterbox works fine for me in my car but it is not loud enough for the noisier cars. Sometimes two, one in each ear, is still not loud enough. Don't bother mounting the box to your helmut, just stuff it in the storage box. Also, when done don't pull it out by the mic stalk - just take your helmut off and let it fall out.

I have a chatterbox and a nady. They are both far from perfect. I've had to replace one headset on each type after one season. Today I use mostly the chatterbox so I guess if I had to recommend one of those two it would be the chatterbox.

If you have the bucks there are rally intercoms that are really nice but they are 2-3x times the price of a chatterbox.
