Any chance we will go back to a 90 minute Enduro this year?

There is only one way to find out. You have to talk to the boss.

I lobbied Pete right after he made the change. To his credit he listened to a lot of different people but I think the cost savings to the PCA are too hard to overcome to change back to 90 minutes.

Hi Todd I also spoke with Pete when he was making the change. He said it's what the racers wanted try it for a while could always go back

In the Zone 1 PCA meeting recently, it was stated that the 2021 Clash would stay with the 60 min Enduro.

I don’t get it... spend a ton of $$$$. Ton of time.. wait all winter long to get back to doing something you love.. take vac time off work to do it... then lobby for LESS time on track??? After a 90 min enduro I remember thinking. Awe man... it’s over already? I thought “ Less time” was drag racers goal?

My thoughts are:

I literally could find no one I spoke to who was in favour of a shortened enduro.

I fear we will Continue to lose PCA racers to other organisations like AER & WRL, as most of us want More track time. Can the cost savings be that significant ? We've already paid for the track rental for the day. What does it amount to - overnight hotels for PCA staff?

90 min : Seems to work at Road Atlanta ,Road America , Summit Point etc cetera

My 2 cents.

45 minute sprint races would be sweet as well! By the time you get going the checker comes out.

Three things that can separate PCA from the rest:
1. Large fields in the same class, fewer classes not more. PCA has done a super job of this recently and they are continuing to evolve.
2. Adopt the SCCA coexistence rules, no one "owns" a corner
3. 45 min sprints with 90 min enduros

I believe a big part of the decision has to do with money. If you have 90 minute enduros all the PCA volunteers can't fly home that night and thus it is another night of hotel rooms.

When the "poll" was taken I was not asked because I had missed the WGI race the year before. I suspect there were similar gaps in the polling process.

I have also never met a person who was in favor of the shorter endruo.

Todd, I would love to see the results of the poll where more people chose a 60 minute enduro over 90 minute.
Regarding overnight hotels how is that different from Any other PCA event That manages a 90 minute Sunday Enduro , VIR, road America etc ?

My solution was if that's the problem , extra hotel nite, hold the endore on saturday problem solved.

It may be what some wanted and I certainly understand the logistical issues for some and the cost issues for the club but it definitely isn't what racers said they wanted.
