Default Convex rear-view mirror

Does anyone know of a source for a convex interior rear-view mirror that I could use to replace the stock one on my 1972 911?

Hey Jack;

If you must keep the stock mirror, I've seen clip on deals at department stores.

In case you were not aware...

- There are the Longacre convex racing mirrors, but they are 14" or 17" in length and meant to mount on a tube.

- I have used a Wink multi panel mirror for years. You get extreme field of view, but they are not convex and so the image is real size, not magnified. They mount to the windshield header panel. NO BLIND SPOT! You can see cars in the mirror and in your peripheral vision at the same time on the right side!

www.racerwholesale.com/

This is where I got mine, call and request a catalog, there is more than one type and configuration.

"Edit," "Learned when to use (is) as opposed to (are)." Sheesh!

I use one from I/O Port Racing. It was inexpensive and works well.

I have the Longacre 14" version and it works well, although is "designed" to be rollcage mounted. I previously tried a 5-panel Wink and the visibility was even better than the convex unit, but it took up more room and the mounting was a bit kludgy. If I had it to to over again, I'd probably try the 17" convex.

Well, I ordered a small clip-on one from I/O Port Racing. The sub-$20 price seems worth it to see if it's what I want.

I'd still like to find one that replaces the stock mirror entirely, rather than attaching to the roll bar or sticking or clipping to the old mirror.

Hey Jack -

Let us know the result of your efforts.

Chris -

914s are virtually impossible to get a Wink in. I've tried a couple times and the cramped cockpit just doesn't give enough room to make them work right.
