WTB: 981 Cayman S PDK for track use
Looking to replace my 981S track car with another one.
Must have options:
PDK
Sport Chrono
PTV (not a deal breaker if doesn't have)
"Low" miles
All other options not needed as we will be converting into a track car.
Been looking at PCA Marketplace and RL Classifieds, and have some solid leads, but haven't come across the "perfect" replacement yet.
Any leads would be appreciated.
Thanks,
DG

Just the 981S PDK platform. It’s what I’m used to and what I’d like to replace the current 981S with.
Any help or info would be appreciated.
Ready to pull the trigger when the right car comes along.
Thanks

Good luck. I bought a 2013 Boxster S last November that was loaded to include PTV. It had a rear bumper accident in CARFAX but the original owner keep the car for 6 years. I guessing Caymans are rarer. My son found the car on the internet. Use cars.com and cargurus.com as other sources.
Curious, but did you wear out your current car? Started track the BS as a replacement for an 09 Boxster. Just DEs, not actual racing. If I ever went that route would replace the Boxster with a Cayman for obvious safety reasons.

Thanks for the well wishes.
As for wearing out the original car, I did not wear her out. The Armco at Watkins Glen, however, did!!
Edit to my OP, I will also look at a 981 GTS as well as long as it's PDK.
So any PDK 981 S or 981 GTS (2014-2016 MY).
Thanks for any leads guys and gals. Ready to pull the trigger as soon as the right car pops.

I don't really want the PASM but I have the 4 PASM delete modules to cancel it out as it doesn't play well with the MCS 2 or 3 way suspension.
My original Cayman S, we deleted the PASM as it was interfering with the MCS 2 way suspension set up that we put in.
A PDK 981 S or GTS with the fewest options possible will fit the bill.
It's going to be converted into a track dedicated car, just like the original one was, so stuff like deviated stitching, satellite radio, painted dials, gloss black door handles, etc are a waste of money to me for this new car.
Unfortunately, I think I will be paying for some of those unwanted options, but it is what it is.
Just want another Cayman to play on the track with. Such a great track car. I am currently learning my 991.2 GT3 on the track, but I got so used to the Cayman and it's balance that I want another one of the same breed.
The search is on..............

987.2 and 6-speed, but heck, you can always sell it once you get your new one built. https://sstauto.com/listings/2009-ca...nual-for-sale/
Just a thought
Sorry about the ARMCO...

Not quite the spec you are looking for, but my car is race-ready (literally) and at Speed Sport.

Have the 6 speed GT3 for my track stickmobile.
Surprised your car hasn't sold yet. Such a well known car and well sorted out.
Good luck..

Bruce have you considered a 987 Cayman R? I think there's one with PDK in the classifieds right now. Just a thought - they're probably similar money to a 981 CS, but I can't comment on the driving experience.

I do like the 981 S or GTS platform as I already have 300 track days in one, but I will check out the R you mentioned.
Thanks for the heads up.....

It's a weird time to be selling - we're not expecting it to take long.
Good luck with your pursuit!
