Mugello F1 Race

He also has passion- did you hear the radio exchange when he was fighting for that last point near the end of the race? He really wanted it!
It seems like the grid is mostly set for 2021, so unless Williams tries to make its own copy of a Mercedes (like the pink one), we will have to wait a bit longer to see him in a better car.

I was really impressed with Lance's race. Daddy's money helped him get to F1, but he is certainly getting results based on his merit. It will be very interesting to see how he compares with Seb when they are in the same car next year. If not for the crash (not his fault; apparently caused by a puncture), he had a great shot at being on the podium. I don't think Riccardo was catching up to him prior to that point. The race could have been a very interesting (and possibly different) outcome without that crash. Both Mercs were staying off the curbs, and possible would have pitted; would someone have stayed out and rolled the dice?
I think Cyril was as close to that tattoo as he has ever been. I'm sure Danny will keep fighting to get that podium before he leaves.

In the end every driver has to pay to drive. They either bring sponsorship dollars with them or become a big enough marquis name that the sponsors flock to the team because the car is going to get a lot of publicity for running up front.
If things were "normal" Stroll would have been the one to go as Perez is backed by Carlos Slim, one of the richest people in the world. That being said, Daddy's money may have gotten Lance the opportunity but no amount of money can put him at the front of the race. He did that on skill.
I want to resent Lance but the boy can drive.
Lastly, I really wanted a podium for Danny Ric.

George certainly has talent. He won the virtual championship and deserves a more competitive car.

I know this is a hard line to walk, but let's keep the politics, and the invective, out of the tech forums. Please.
Also, FYI, politics have been scrubbed from the tech forums for the past twenty plus years, so there is nothing new here.
If you guys can't stay on topic, this thread will be temporarily closed.

It always amazes me when there's censorship of grown adults. In an F1 thread where the most visible driver is bringing controversial topics into the sport and the FIA is investigating his actions that took place not only pre-race, but up on the podium, grown adults cannot discuss what's going on?
If discussions in this forum were to only be about on track activity, it would be:
"Mercedes wins again".
the end.
