Default Porsche Trophy West USA 2020 - 718 GT4 Clubsport MR - Race2

Been having an awesome time this weekend at UMC doing our first Trophy event of the year.

Temperatures are in the high 90s so the track does start to get a bit greasy over the race which made things a little more interesting.

So nice to actually get out of the house during these times and do what I love!

Was an awesome race, had to show some patience but it all worked out at the end.

Hope you enjoy!

Alain still needs to get that rear view camera to act like a mirror. It is so weird having cars on the right show up on the left.

There is a Trophy race there during August 20-23, really hope it still happens but everything still up in the air these days. Was suppose to do COTA at the end of the month but was told today its 50/50 with how bad Texas is getting hit with COVID, but since it's in Austin which is not hit as hard as Dallas or Houston there still is a chance.

Have to admit it was really nice for a little normalacy during all the chaos and being back in the driver seat felt amazing even in 99 degree weather and the cool box decides to stop working 10 mins into the race!

Today was a nice finish as well...

Nine cars amongst three classes with your class being the largest with 6 cars? Wow. At least you have some competition....there is just one Cup car and two GT2RS cars......

The series is top notch and a good group of drivers and shops help support it. I was pretty happy to see 6 GT4s ar Utah but there are actually 10 signed up for licenses and assume when we do a Laguna or Sonoma events more will attend due to their home location since people still afraid to fly at the moment.

How much are the entry fees? Do they have races with air-cooled cars?

It's Porsche Spec series, so one race is Cup Cars with and without ABS but I believe there are 4 different classes of Cup Cars, and then the other race is the Clubsports with GT4 and GT2 but also Cup MR and GT3R, but most of those guys end up running in another series that runs with us called GT Celebration that is basically every cheater car known to man which is pretty dam awesome if you ask me.

Cars need to be all factory parts and sealed motors and transmissions from PMNA for Trophy Series.

As far as cost, its not the same as a PCA race, not even close but at the same time we are not on track with 50+ other cars so it has to be more just to cover costs of the track alone.

Also PMNA is there to help with anything you need which comes in very handy as we needed them a couple times over the weekend with a constant braking issues that I have had with the car that I finally think we got a handle on.

Here is their website if you want to learn some more https://www.competentmotorsport.com/

About to load my third race on YT, was a fun race for sure.
