Default Headset/microphone brand compatibility

PCA Potomac just sent email indicating Jul 10-12 HPDE will have instructors in the student car. As a student I willing to buy my own headset/microphone but have no idea if it would be compatible with my unknown to me instructor's equipment..

Any seasoned instructors with experience on the chances a headset I bought would be compatible.

Recommended brands?

Chatterbox is widely in use. Email them and ask who your instructor will be. Contact them.

Too many choices. What'll fit today may not fit tomorrow.

Just buy the foam windsock. Chatterbox probably covers 75% but alot (most?) Instructors are moving away from cb....

Write back to the team hosting the event. They should have some guidance on what plug you need to support.. Failing any guidance (how well, will that work, really?) just make sure you have an IMSA Connector or adapter.

When I instructed a few weeks ago I only had one student. I put a piece of tape on their foam mic to make sure I did not mix it up with mine. After each session, I put theirs and mine in a plastic bag.
