Default Anyone using Complete Custom Wheels (CCW) on their race cars?

I am getting a set of CCW wheels on my new race car. I had not heard of this company before but it looks like a pretty nice wheel. 3pc wheel. Spun Alum shells, grade 8 hardware, 6061-T6 spun alum center. Kind of looks like the Fiske FM10. I talked to the owner and 18 x10's are right around 20lbs.
The price is about half of the other famous brands. I would love to hear any feedback from users as these may be a great deal for the budget racer

I am not affliated with these guys, just wondering...

Eric I have talked to Karl at Racers Edge about these wheels. He uses them and is very happy with them. He liked them so much he started selling them. I have seen alot of different cars with them.
I am pretty sure Chris Inglot uses them on his S2. He could probably give you some info. They are showing up more and more at PCA races.
Stong,Light, and Cheap. Sound good to me.

Thanks Doug!
Karl is the one building my car (better add more boost to your supercharger!) I know Chris had a couple of sets of Fiskes and of course I sold my 2 sets of FM-5's thinking I was going to get a early 911 to race (big mistake for me!) My only concern with the CCW is how well they stand up to race use. They look pretty well made.

Eric,

There are a few people here out west that I know run them for club racing. Some have had issues with leaks. I also know that CCW service has been excellent when issues have arisen. CCW seemed to always repair the wheel or rectify the situation whatever it may be. Nonetheless, the leaking seems to be a come thread I have heard.

I have a set that I have yet to use b/c my car isn't finished. One option to think about is the titanium bolt option. I am not sure what the weight difference is, but it sure soes look cool.

I ordered two sets from Karl and expect them soon. Polished with black centers, as seen in picture above. I'll try to remember to post some feedback. I plan to take the rims to the Road Atlanta Club race and have Woodman mount new Hoosiers there...

Quite a few autocrossers use CCWs, and the people on the Boxster Racing Board swear by them -- you might want to ask this question there as well.

Andy (944Turbo) from NY had a set on his red 951 racer, they looked great and from conversations with him they seemed to be an awesome wheel, esp for the low $$.

Eric,

If you haven't already bought something I'd call Dave Schardt at Forgeline - tell him you're a friend of Greg's.

When I went through this for my 951S I ended up buying a set of wheels from Dave; they are more expensive than CCW but not a tremendous amount - I bought them with new Hoosiers mounted for a few hundred dollars more than these wheels would have cost me with the same tires. I liked the looks of the Foregelines better (I got the SX3 in anthracite) and was very pleased by my dealings with Dave. He's been a great source of advice to me as I've worked to setup my car so it's been worth it for me.

No flames please - I'm not saying or implying anything negative about CCW.

FWIW, I paid $3k for my set of CCW's with Hoosiers and the titanium bolt upgrade.

John at CCW is a great guy to deal with.

Had being the keyword. It's my car now!

The wheels definately look the part and Andy seemed pleased with them. I haven't driven on them yet, but I'll be hitting an autocross this weekend. I think they're a good choice for the price.

Mine are great, no problems so I can't comment about customer service. No leaks.

I really like mine and for $1800 bucks, you can't beat them. I have had zero problems with them on my club racer.

I plan on calling John again to get a second set. Fiskes are cool, but I can't afford $3,000 for one set of wheels.

I've A LOT of them on Vettes and Vipers, a few on P-Cars. Everybody I talked with seems like like them, a friend of mine has a set of them on his E class 951. They seem to clean up well, even after a few weekends with no cleaning and TONS of brake dust on them.

I went ahead with a Fikse FM-10 purchase, couldn't resist as I've wanted a set of those ever since I saw my first set maybe 10 years ago??

If I get another set of track wheels, CCW will be HIGH on the list...I can't afford a 2ND set of Fikses!
