Default More E-track questions

I'm thinking about adding E-track to the walls of my new trailer and have some questions.

1. How "valuable" is E-track on the walls?

2. How many strips do you have and how high off the floor are they mounted?

3. Is having them mounted flush a big advantage over not?

4. The manuf. doesn't mount it flush, so I would have to do the work myself (routers etc.). Is this a big job?

TIA

E-track is a very secure arrangement for most securing applications. I'd be careful with heavy objects and not through bolting the e track strip. Most of the applications are sheet metal screwed into the skin.

I have 5 or 6 strips in my trailer all attached to the walls and not flush. They are thin enough not to matter much.

Hi Lance,

1. I am using the E-Track to strap in wheel carts and tool boxes (big stuff)
2. 24" and 48"
3. The big advantage of flush mounted is that it can be welded directly to the frame. This is not easily accomplished post manufacture. This is more of an issue if you want to use it on the floor to hold the car in place.
4. Yes it is a big job. I'd probablyu figure a whole weekend to route it out and weld it in. Don't think about it unless you have some experience. Call Truckloaders in Smithtown and have them give you a quote.
