Default New Helmet

Well, I've talked a lot about the G-Force Forced Air helmet. Well, here is mine, freshly painted by Bill Cousins at Kuzzins Kustoms.

How much does a simple (something like george's seems pretty simple) helmet paint job cost? I'm getting one soon, and it'd be nice to have something unique.

Mine was billed out at 16 hours @ $35/hr. $560 + $15 S&H.

I think you will find any design of any sort will cost at least $500.

I did mine myself. I think next time (when I get a forced air helmet) I'll let one of the others guys do it.

I wonder if anyone has tried removing the forced air inlet piece. My head bolster gets in the way of the helmet hose so I will be installing a 90 degree fitting. I will have to remove the rivets and plan on having the hose come from above. Any thoughts?

Nice helmets!!! All I have on mine is a Porsche crest sticker, an "Approved until 2009" sticker, and my name, blood type & other med info.

Ooo: maybe I'll add a red stripe over the top! Wee!!

YAWN.

Blood type......hummmm. I know this was required at some time but why folks still do it is beyond me. If you need blood emergently you will get O- no matter what is on your helmet, suit or even tattooed on your forehead, and if it is non-emergent your blood will be type and crossmatched with the donor blood before you get transfused.

It's clear that the painter did just that. He removed it and riveted it back in place after painting.
