Cross post. Belts are 3”, used only for DE, and out of date, so can only be used for DE now

Not true for all DE organizers. PCA rules do not permit outdated safety equipment.

Depends where. Not all regions strictly enforce current belts

Expired belts are worth exactly zero dollars and should not be used regardless of enforcement

As one that keeps car totally inside, away from UV and various elements that breakdown the belts, and only uses ~6 weekends/year, I have always doubted the science and reality of my belts degrading in that short time frame. However, with all that being said, I accept the rules of PCA and others that do not allow outdated equipment (and have been checked routinely at PCA HPDE events). Thus, seems irresponsible to be selling for money as I have a cabinet full of expired belts. For that matter, irresponsible for someone to buy them.

I've gone back and forth on this topic several times with PCA National and basically what I've been told is that since the belts come with an expiration date, they have to use it. So even tho a 911SC can have 40 year old stock belts, they don't have an expiration date on them, hence are still usable.

Understand completely, quite a double standard. In this litigious world we live in, organizations and myself are not willing to go outside manufacturer's recommendations and inherit all that risk.
