Maybe you should reconsider the helmet tactic, and go with the new mask replacement instead. At least you won't have helmet hair 😁

My only concern would be paying for an event only to lose money because you got quarantined/sick a week before. Cutoff for refund, even partial, is generally two weeks - same as quarantine period. Hate to eat a $700 race entry over this. It would also suck if you contracted coronavirus because someone came to an event after being exposed or tested positive.

Not a doc, and I usually feel personally invincible ( I worked across the street from WTC for both the truck bombing and 9/11 yet never thought it would happen to me. And I get in passenger seats)

My brother is a lung doc with sobering thoughts about the importance of avoiding others and keeping one's home and car "clean".
I'm not sure this is rational, but I'm more concerned with motels and restaurants than anything else.

This week, he says we should still go out to dinner and attend our club's annual instructors' meeting, which I have planned. He urges approaching this week to week, and I'm going to err on the side of caution, being an older guy. If it gets as bad as he worries--and he thinks we'll get the crap kicked out of us before it's over-- I won't be traveling unnecessarily for a while.

I totally agree with this Marc. It needs to be week to week right now. Here in MA I suspect a lockdown could occur in the coming weeks but we'll see.
As you know Irene and I are both docs and we both believe this will become a serious problem in the US.
We are scheduled to drive to Road Atl in 10 days. We are playing it day to day to see what we will do.

I'm on the board of one of the Audi Club chapters (NEQ) and just discussed this. We're going to keep our six DE events in the calendar as scheduled, but let people know they are OK to cancel up to the day of the DE and be refunded. Our sense is that people will operate in good faith. We'd obviously rather have people decide to stay home if they're under the weather or feel like they have had a likelihood of exposure.

I was in NYC last week and am still alive.

Currently in Disney testing the limits of my immune system and patience. I've found the random cough keeps people away.

I think this is a reasonable plan. I hope SCCA doesn't kill our season. We aren't hugging and kissing each other anyway. Honestly if racers acted with an "abundance of caution" we would not be racing.

McLaren Bailing? Sebring canceled? No Spectators at F1... That's it.. We all should get breathing apparatus for our helmets.. and just wear them everywhere...

The small restrooms and facilities are the first, and generally only, thing I think of.

Maybe a "don't take offense if I pee over there" policy would be helpful...
