Default How likely is bump steer an issue?

2006 Carrera S @ 5/8" lower than stock in the front from H&R sport springs. -2.2 deg with Tarett Camber plates, GMG GT3 sway bars set to mid and PowerGrid drop links, along with a DSC module.

I'm not detecting anything noticeable but it's very possible I just don't know a lap without bump steer. Given that it's not excessively lower with these modifications and limited grip of ToyoR888R I just don't know if it's an issue.

What would be your inclination? Has anyone verified bump steer with a similar setup?

I've not set bump steer on a similar car or setup, but from setting bump steer on other cars, my guess is it's not likely an issue with the minimal amount of lowering you've done

Thank you. Even with other shocks I'm not sure I would take it any lower. I still need to maneuver entryways and gas station covers. It's a compromise between street and track.

Bump steer is usually pretty noticeable if you have it. You didn't notice anything?

Havent noticed yet. Tracks I drive are all in pretty good shape and I dont ride the gators too hard. Sure I could test for it but I don't want to use a scenario I dont actually encounter on track.

A friend had nearly the exact set up as you but with a 2007 S with PASM. I dont know how many different stiffness levels if any there are with the H&R sports be he thought he felt the increased rebound speed from the stiffer springs were over powering what was left of the rebound dampening in the stock 12 year old shocks. He had the springs front and rear and experienced what he thought was an unsettled bouncy ride on track quite often to the point of him removing the springs and going back to stock. He wanted PSS10 with PASM but they were never available at the time. Not sure if you're experiencing anything like that, just food for thought.

Good point. I did replace two oem PASM dampers 2 years ago when I added DSC. I wouldn't describe it as bouncy, but if I had any time with JRZ or Moton maybe it would seem bouncy.
I'm keeping an eye out for 997.2 GT3 PASM takeoffs. Ohlins R&T may be an option.

Unless you're driving the gators hard, you won't have any issues with bump steer.

Upgraded to full coilovers, Bilstein PSS10 Damptronic. Ride height is just slightly higher than I had with the H&R sport springs.
Also added JRZ camber plates and rear dog bones.

listed the Toe-links / Bump steer kit for sale in the classifieds. Never opened up the sealed bags they came in.
Now just waiting for a Right coast track to open up near me.
Stay Healthy !
