Default Tire Selection Time

Black Friday through 12/2/19 pices...10% off, free freight. Tires for a 2015 Cayman GTS. I won't consider Hoosiers; they are like "crack", want a UTQC 100 tire, maybe a 200 if I can't find a 100. These tires are for HPDE, and won't be driven in the rain.

NT-01
235/35/19
305/30/19
$1,343 from Americas Tire 10% Black Friday

TOYO R888R
245/35/19
295/30/19
$1,121 from Americas Tire 10% Black Friday

I do have GT3 lower control arms so I have -2.5 to -3.0 front negative camber available. On the rear I am able to dial in -2 degrees, maybe more rear negative camber...and have adjustable toe links from Tarett.

I like the Nittos as I have been using them on the track for years...concerned if the 305 rear will be too wide

I like the fact that the TOYO R888R are 10mm wider in front, 10mm narrower in the rear, and $222 cheaper is a plus.

Need to decide by close of business 12/2/19

Don't care about noise...track only tires. Any suggestions as to which brand to select?

Haven't run the Toyo, but liked the Nittos a lot in my C2S

Default More concerned about size...

I have burned through numerous sets of NT-01 tires. Absolutely lobe them. Wear like iron.....stick like glue. I may juts order them up...if they don't fit...then send them bac\k and go with the Toyos.with the 295mm rears.

In my experience the rears tires are too wide relative to the front and will make understeer worse.

Given a choice between NT-01's and R888R, I would go with the Nittos. The Toyos degrade with heat cycles but the Nittos do not. When new they are similar with a slight edge, I think, for the Nittos.

Thanks, Bill, appreciate your insight.

Shizzle: On the NT-01 65mm front to the rear may not be ideal, considering stock factory 19" tire delta with 235 front and 255 rear is only 20mm...but on my GT3, I ran Nitto NT-01 245 fronts and 305 rears, a 60mm delta and they ran like a dream. My options on 19" wheels on the Cayman GT3 are so limited in UTQC 100, going to UTQC 200 opens things up and reduces the front to rear delta to 30mm with 245 fronts and 275 rears.

Understeer I can deal with, just back off a wee bit...oversteer is what scares me, especially snap oversteer.

Enclosed is the "borrowed" spreadsheet I use to determine tire applicability.

Also consider Nankang AR1

purchase from Phil’s tire service.
