Daytona date not set?

I know it is such an expensive venue, I hope we are able to maintain our event.

Even if we have to join with another club hopefully this works out.

Thunderhill will be the popular event. POC not doing FOS anymore.

That is a shame. I enjoyed when POC joined us at FOS.

Have not done this event in 5 years Which event has better attendance?

Thunderhill is certainly the better track and will be where I will be that weekend.

Rumor is Florida Citrus PCA (Orlando) is considering sponsoring Daytona Race weekend, but the financial risk has them freaked out. Like this year, sharing Friday with David Murry Track Days lessens the financial strain...but racers were uniformly angered by the condensed schedule (30 minutes on track, 30 minutes off track) during Friday afternoon. The club just installed a new president, so politics abound. In 2019, the financially well-heeled Suncoast PCA (50 miles down the road in Tampa), scheduled a big Sebring DE on the same weekend as Daytona (Oct 26-27), draining off DE drivers (which help make the expensive Daytona race weekend possible). In 2020, Suncoast PCA has rescheduled its Sebring DE two weeks earlier to Oct. 10-11. But Chin has grabbed the Speedway dates from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1. That leaves just a two-week window in October for PCA.

The PCA Barber Park race weekend in 2018, which was a BIG success among drivers (but didn't turn a profit), was underwritten by Atlanta's huge Peachstate chapter. They had the volunteers and financial backing to make it happen, unlike the much smaller local Birmingham Alabama PCA chapter. There was no Barber Park race in 2019 because of repaving, but the track was expected to be back on schedule in 2020. It isn't. Rumor has it that Peachstate officials are freaked out by escalating track rental prices at both Road Atlanta and Barber Park.

I hope it makes a comeback - I think there’s a contingent of north east SPB racers who would make the trip down

Why would PCA schedule two races in California on the same weekend? Granted they're on opposite ends of the state but if you look at the calendar, west coast events are pretty sparse when compared to east coast races and could stand to use two separate weekends
