Yes. A maximum of twenty-five cars, open pit lane all day, racing rules (can pass anywhere), not too long before (and outside of the testing prohibition for) major professional sporting event is a cheap, small group opportunity for professional teams, specifically GT3 Cup, LMP3 and GT4 teams. Most track day drivers would probably not be comfortable in the mix.
The reason why this makes sense is that it’s a lot less expensive than renting the track for a private test, and when some teams bring multiple cars, they can really work efficiently with their engineers and their drivers with coaches to get to a point (hopefully) where all the hard work is done and they are coming off the trailer AT the event, fast. Saves time and ensures (hopefully) success.
For the track day driver, there are the less expensive DMTD events. If the pros want to come to those, there are small, added-cost windows where they can test unrestricted over lunch and after the regular hours are done.
I have no connection with DMTD other than being a supporter from the beginning and that I find it an ideal opportunity to work with my clients on OUR schedule, not anyone else’s, so we can really get good work done.
Every time drivers and teams turn a wheel, it’s expensive. Now, more than ever, you need good value for the dollars spent. DMTD offers that.

Any history/info on PBOC Sebring WinterFest Jan 15-19? Looks like an ideal 4 or 5 days on track at very reasonable prices.
Anybody here do this event before?

There’s also a January 28-29 midweek pair of days before the 48 Hours for $799 both days, very popular event.

I've done many PBOC Winterfest and 85Gold is correct, Super Solo is the best group if your not in a race group. Racers are not allowed and you need to be qualified to get in the group. As far as DMD for $4000 goes, it must be a very small group which he does on occasion. The usual cost is 300-400 a day if I remember correctly

Wow, guess I’ll pass in the winterfest if that is indeed the case.
What was the issue, too many cars registered? Drivers in the wrong run groups? Overcrowding?
Thanks.

http://chintrackdays.com/schedule.aspx If the Jan dates work a good group. If you have never run with Chin email the event chair with your resume to get the correct run group. Be aware the Jan dates sell out fast.
http://www.drivenasafl.com/ Feb and April dates. Same as Chin email your resume to Jim for proper classing. I run TT with NASA.

I’ve been running with Chin for a while now here in the northeast. WGI, NJMP, etc.
Agrer a very good group to run with and lots of track time.
The plan is to do the southeast track trip by hitting multiple tracks or the same track for multiple days, or both, within a 7 day span. Florida is a long way to trailer to from North Jersey for just a 2 day run. That’s why I’m trying to work around the March 6-8 event at Sebring.
Thanks for the help.

If Road Atlanta is on your list there is 5 days if you combine the DMTD event (March 31/Apr1) with the Adv Solo part of the Club Race on Apr 3-5. This leave April 2nd for some mountain runs north of Atlanta which has spectacular driving roads.

pretty sure those are pro testing days? maybe ahead of the 12 hours? for us its not quite that eye-watering - you can run in exclusive group (1500) or regular group (800) for 2 days ahead of the pca race...then stay and watch the races and see if Luigi still has brakes at the end!
