Default Pricing for Pagid race pads - Same pricing Everywheree same?

Hi all -

I recently moved up to a Pagid race pad (yellow 8074-29) for my 2009 base Carrera. They work great! I am preparing for beginning to learn to change out pads myself, since I am trackking so much and will probably at some point soon need to change them at the track. In addition to buying the necessary tools (torx bit for the caliper bolts, brake pad spreader), I am looking online to buy a spare set of Pagid pads and finding that every source on the Internet seems to be EXACTLY the same price, $439. Is this a Pagid factory rule? Only exception was I think at Pelican where the price was over $500 for one set of front pads....

The last time I looked around online for a part was for a lower control arm, I don't remember seeing this same problem.

Comments?

PS> Any other specialty tools/bits I will need for my brake pad change-outs? The base Carrera does NOT have the open caliper top like the "S" models do, so the whole caliper must come out each time.

Thanks in advance!

PPS - Can anyone tell me how to put a photo up on my profile? Everyone has cool photos for their icon when they post...

Jeff

Rennlist members can get 10% off at https://apexperformance.net/ (not affiliated, just bought a set of F/R yellows a month or two ago for my P car)

Same is true I believe for Paragon. They also have some of the newer pad compounds that are harder to find a lot of places, eg, the RSL1.

I buy all mine from Paragon. A smidge cheaper and they give you free brake fluid with every purchase.

OP, Are you sure you need to remove the caliper? If so buy a caliper stud set and minimize risk of stripping the threads on the upright.
